Why I’m Running
The Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District's motto is "Excellence in Education since 1876.” After 150 years, Dry Creek is at an important point in its future, and I want to help build on what’s already working.
Our district and teachers have won numerous awards over the years for excellence in education. Earlier this year, all nine school sites won awards for successful implementation of PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports). As a Dry Creek parent, I have seen this system in action and the difference it makes on campuses. This is a clear example of how our district continues to demonstrate dedication to providing the very best learning environments for our students. My knowledge of the district's past and present gives me a firm foundation from which to encourage continued positive growth.
As a parent, PTA leader, and School Site Council member, I’ve experienced our schools from the inside and understand the importance of listening to families, educators, and our community. From the vantage point of a PTA leader, I have experienced firsthand how increased family and community involvement on campuses positively impacts our schools. I've listened to our teachers and staff to find out what supports they need most, and witnessed the difference that can be made when volunteers lend a hand. I believe when adults invest time and energy into children, children feel worthy and will invest in themselves. Our schools need our support and investment. I'm ready to hear what people in our community have to say and bring it to board discussions in a meaningful way.
As a trustee, I’ll bring my service-first, connection-driven perspective to the decisions that shape our schools, from student safety and strong programs to thoughtful policy and responsible stewardship of our district.
Meet Renae
13 Years in Antelope
7+ Years Serving Dry Creek Families
2012 Doctorate in Psychology
PTA LEADER - SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL - VOLUNTEER
I’m proud to call Antelope home. I’ve lived here for 13 years and have been an active member of the Antelope and Dry Creek communities for much of that time.
Originally from a small town in South Dakota, I moved to California to pursue my education and earned my doctorate in clinical psychology. After beginning my career, I stepped away from professional practice to focus on raising my family and found meaningful ways to serve my community through volunteering.
Endorsements
I’m grateful to have the support of parents, educators, and community members who believe in the importance of strong schools and an engaged community.
